:WUMPSCUT: - Born Again

\/\/umpscut’s latest release, Born Again, comes less than ½ year after his last album, Embryodead.  Born Again consists of 14 tracks of remixes and unreleased tracks, most of which were spawned from Embryodead.  There are quite a few unique things about this CD.
1) a version of Thorns with female vocals,
2) a collaboration with Raoul (Noisex) in the form of Wumpsex, and
3) a remix of an Aghast View track (Vaporize.)
The Aghast View piece actually appeared on AV's last release, entitled Vapor Eyes, but Rudy felt that his mix was done so well that he decided to include it in the collection.  Wumpsex is just what you’d expect, an equally developed piece that takes the angry noise of Noisex and mixes it together with the dark electronics of \/\/umpscut.  Although it is a bit repetitive, this piece does showcase both individuals talents.  Thorns (Distant Vocals Version) was the biggest surprise.  Considering that this was one of my favorite \/\/ pieces to begin with, it was only improved with the addition of the soft female vocals.  The instrumental, Man’s Complete Idiot, is a previously unreleased piece with quivering and ominous, dark electronics, minimal samples, and beats that sound as if they were fashioned after drum and bass.  Off of the hard to come by Deejaydead CD comes the Brain Leisure mix of Angel and the Aghast View mix of Embryodead, so now all of you collectors can finally have those missing tracks.  Brain Leisure take Angel and add a more upbeat flavor to it by softening up some of the electronics and adding a strict, looped dance beat in the background.  The Aghast View mix sounds more like a Biopsy mix in that they utilize a Swamp Terrorist styled tech beat amongst the divergent rhythm.  Except for a couple of samples, this version is a complete instrumental.  Lastly, the CD finishes off with the Haujobb mix of Die in Winter, which was previously only available on the US version of Bunker Gate 7.  Rudy has made quite a name for himself is a short period of time and after listening to Born Again it’s easy to hear why his music stands above the rest.
