Die Flut is the first offering between the vocalist from Wolfsheim (Peter Heppner) and German sensation Joachim Witt.  On this CDs this duo team up for the title track and then they each go solo for the two bonus tracks.  From the moment I heard Die Flut on a compilation I knew it was destined to be a hit and I was right on target.  This track was a major success in German clubs.  The combination of Witt's rough vocals and Heppner's lighter, synth-pop musings is a delight to the ears.  The music behind this piece is airy and buoyant and contains nothing intrusive to interfere with the vocals.  On Wintermärz, Witt's track, a slow moving synth sequence in accompanied by light piano sounds, a moderate beat, and Witt's throaty vocals.  This track drifts out of the speakers and fills the room with warmness.  Heppner's piece, entitled Twelve, is a short vocal driven piece with minimal beats and whimsical sequences.  Die Flut is a wonderful piece and I hope that these two amazing vocalists will team up again in the future!
