MACHINE THAT FLASHES - Luciferin
Songs: 10 Time: 66:46
Decibel Records has begun to show its
diversity in artists with the release of Machine That Flashes’ CD
Lucifern. The press release boldly stated that this is not an
industrial recording, and that statement is correct. Machine That Flashes is,
more or less, a rock outfit with raw a sound and angst ridden vocals. At times
the music sounds as if it was recorded live, with little or no production value.
Distortion is a perfect example of this. The drums are a bit
overpowering, nearly drowning out the indecipherable vocals. The guitar riffs
are a bit repetitive and, in places, the timing seems to be a bit off. For the
most part, Luciferin sounds like a very amateur recording. I believe that this
is mostly due to the poor production. With some more practice and better
mixing, Machine That Flashes could prove to be worthwhile, but as they stand
now, they are nothing to get too excited about.
