LEÆTHER STRIP - Carry Me
Songs: 7

Claus is back in town! After a two year absence from music (other than the Cleo tributes and mix-CD's), Strip's back with a new single, as a precursor to a new album/EP in the near future. Claus ha lost nothing in his ability to make wonderfully desperate electro, and Carry Me proves it. The aforementioned song is your typical AE, though with a more "modern" feel: a danceable beat with dark, thick analog electronics and beautiful and emotional yet simple strings coupled with Claus' alternating angry and saddened vocals . The chorus features Claus singing a la the new EBM style over his own emotional stringy synth work. A sure to be classic. The mixes are all from other bands, ranging from excellent to interesting to sub-par. BOOM handles the first mix, and turns it into a changing EBM dance piece/breakbeat styled piece with new loud techno-ish sequences, very nice. J. Schmidt does his own rendition of the song, keeping the sting work and vocals, but changing the beat to a more choppy breakbeat fashion while DJ Twitch does the "phat" mix, churning out a funky beat along with thick analog sequences. The last three are not bad, but defiantly sub-par for the magnitude of a Leaetherstrip CD. They just lose the flavor of the whole CD. Although 7 versions of the same song can be tiring and detrimental to a CD (i.e. the Headhunter fiasco), these all have their own unique quality that haold their own, making this new AE a warning to all the newbies out there...he's comiiiiiing!!!
