LCD -
Disco Inferno
Songs: 4 Time: 18:48
That trippy, tech group known as LCD
returned early in 1998 with a new single, Disco Inferno, that
rejuvenates the standard big beat techno sound. A variety of sounds, ranging
from horns to manipulated funky guitar riffs, Disco Inferno sounds as if
it were a 70's song alright…..a song from 2070. Granted, LCD still put forth
the rolling, hip-hop orientated beats, but alongside of that they introduce a
female vocalist, who more or less speaks the vocals rather than singing them.
On Inferno Rebirth LCD opt to bring the beat to the front of the piece
and give it an adrenaline shot to make it heavier and more erratic. This
version is an instrumental, but does feature a few snippets of vocals sample.
Gone are the funky guitars and horns, making this piece more aligned with LCD's
earlier tracks. Finally, Undo (Live in Las Vegas) is a trance like
trip-hop techno piece with some nice, noisy keys and an array of beat styles.
Disco Inferno is an addicting little single that should please both the avid
electro heads as well as the techno-freaks.
