LA FLOA MALDITA / ERBLAST
- Twin Peeks
Songs: 4 Time: 20:38
This split CD was originally intended to be a
promo item for a tour that La Floa Maldita and Erblast shared in
1997, but for some odd reason it became available in the states in the spring.
I've always been a fan of La Floa Maldita's compositions (I call them that
because there is so much more to them than there is in a simple song) and both
of their tracks on Twin Peeks (L'Oasis [Chaos] and
L'Enfer Confortable [Undrummed]) showcase Guido and Rhea's sheer talent
for combining subtle electronic elements together with operatic vocals. Both of
these tracks are moving compositions that will put the listener at ease with
their light, yet intricate, musical elements and sweeping vocals. Erblast, on
the other hand, does not intrigue me near as much. While their music is similar
in the fact that it is docile, it is not near as complex or captivating.
Listening to both Ismael (Edit) and Saddams Requiem I can't help
but to think that they sound like Das Ich on downers. This split CD is a
worthwhile buy for the La Floa Maldita tracks and considering it's probably
rare, it might be considered a collector's item some day.
