Over two decades after their formation, KMFDM is still pounding out the club hits.  Ruck Zuck is their latest offering, dishing out 6 remixes from Hau Ruck, one from WWIII, as well as two new pieces.  Sasha’s Kaptn’s Krunch mix of Free Your Hate is less aggressive than the original with the beats pushed to the forefront and the guitars are distorted (or Krunch-i-fied.)  Mini Mini Mini (J. Hogstorm and the Rain City Swingin' Samples mix) is just as its title suggests, a swinging version of the original complete with a big band sound and Sasha’s lethally dense vocals.  While the arrangement is altered, the actual music behind Professional Killer (The One And Only mix) is not too far off from the original.  The Dwarves mix of Ready to Blow is a slowed down version of the original where we find the vocals placed mainly over the breaks, making them much more prominent.  While the original takes its time in building up, the Spezial Z mix of Hau Ruck assaults the listener right away with thunderous guitars, hearty vocals, and those staple KMFDM symphonic breaks.  The real treat is the cover of DAF’s Der Mussolini.  KMFDM’s cover stay true to the original, but adds in those rifling guitar riffs that only KMFDM can produce.  Ansage is primarily a spoken word track with minimal music elements.  All in German, I could only pick out certain words (such as Columbine, CNN, Betty Ford, Guantanamo Bay, Linda Ronstadt and Barry Manilow.  It’s times like this that I really wish I knew how to comprehend German.  I’m sure this is more interesting to those who do.  Back in the day KMFDM released a ton of singles, but it’s been awhile since we were treated to one and judging by the quality, length, and price, this one makes up for that void.  You really can’t go wrong with KMFDM.
