Philly natives Cesium 137 find themselves with their third album released on Metropolis

Æfter neæry æ decæde of silence, Clæus Lærsen resurrest’s Klute, or Klutæ æs it is now known. Ok…enough with the æ’s. Claus was one of the pioneers of electronic body music movement back in the early 90’s. His Leæther Strip project was always in the forefront, but in 1991 he released Explicit and the fury of Klute was unleashed upon the world. Edgier rhythms, harder beats, and angst-filled vocals were the driving force behind Klute. Songs like Desert Storm, I Wanna Fuck Now!, and Hey Fuck Da World showed the anger of Klute over the next 4 years. And then there was silence. Claus moved forward with Leæther strip material up until 2001 and then he disappeared. 2006 sees the return of both projects and the Sinner MCD is the first new Klutæ material since 1995. The staple sound of the 90’s Klute is still intact in the new material, but alongside is a much more matured sound. The focus on this MCD seems to be more on the rhythm and less on the vocals. The title track, We Are the Sinners, is presented in two forms. First is the Auch It’s Hot rmx, where a hammering beat urges the track onward while a heavy guitar grinds in the background. The second version, Radio Version, is a shorter take on the first. News alert for those who just crawled out from under a rock, Claus is not straight. On I’m a Fat Faggot in Leatherjacket (Chubby Chaser rmx) Claus has a bit of a croon to his vocals, the percussion is hand crafted for dancing, and the synths are wild and erratic. Desert Storm 2006 (Sunblock rmx) is an updated version of a Klute classic, reprogrammed with fresh, George W., Dr. Phil, and various newscaster samples. Re-keyed and re-tweaked, this track is the stand out song on this CD. Enough of the original is retained for familiarity, but enough has changed to make it seem completely new. A new full length, Hit’n’Run is due out on April 28^th, but in the meantime, pick this MCD up to hear the fresh, yet recognizable sound of Klutæ.
