This little 3-track CD by KlangAbstraKt
showcases this duos ability to create dark and somber instrumentals that fall
somewhere between gothic and darkwave. The gothic portion of these tracks lies
within their gloomy melodies and melancholy arrangements, while the darkwave
portions of these songs are found in the light and airy feeling of the overall
composition. With minimalistic beats and whimsical synth sounds, both versions
of Memories are perfect for relaxing, but neither could do much to a
crowd if played in a club setting. The Journey is even less effective on
the dancefloor, as it is more of an experimental darkwave piece. All in all,
Memories is the type of music that would be more fitting as
soundtrack music for a medieval film.
