Originally released in Europe in 1997, One Roman Choir became an instant hit for KieTheVez.  Now, over a year later, A Different Drum has released it as a CD single containing 3 versions of the title track, 2 other pieces, and a pair of CD-ROM videos.  One Roman Choir is one of those synth-pop pieces that gets stuck in your head for days on end.  The keys are whimsical, the beats are prominent and steady, and the vocals are beyond addicting.  The Radio Edit is nothing too different from the original, but it does clock in a tad shorter.  On the Holy Mix the beats are slightly altered with some added, rolling elements tossed in.  The sequences are more aquatic sounding, allowing the vocals to shine even brighter.  Todd Durrant (owner, president, CEO, and even a client of the USA's premier synth-pop label, A Different Drum) puts his remix talent to work on the Holier Mix.  The beats on his version are reconstructed, transmuted into a placed in the forefront of the mix.  At places the sequences drop completely out, giving this mix a fresh feel and making it the most remarkable on the CDS.  In My Eye relies on a denser rhythm juxtaposed against jumpy sequences and airy vocals. The pair of videos (Can't See This and Erina) are a great little addition.  It's always delightful to see European videos from bands such as KieTheVez.  Although they are nothing award winning, they are still fun to watch. KieTheVez have a distinct sound all their own and One Roman Choir is just one example of their unique sound…and their addictive nature.
