Far more dance orientated than In Strict Confidence of the past, this new single from Dennis and Jorg has quickly become a club hit in both Europe and the US. Featuring 4 mixes of the title track, Kiss Your Shadow shows a new direction for this already prominent Euro electro project. Of these mixes, I prefer the French Kiss version the most. Containing a pulse pounding beat, lush vocals, and classical styled synth patterns, this particular mix comes across as the one with the most heart. Das Ich's remix is a stripped down version of the original, utilizing the rhythm and vocals the most. Thick sequences are scattered throughout the mix, but they are overshadowed by the less complex musical elements. The b-side track, Love Will Never Be the Same, is a mellower track featuring more soothing synths, a less aggressive beat, and light, echoing female vocals. The extended version of Kiss Your Shadow is nothing more than that…a longer, more club friendly version of the original. Another unique thing about Kiss Your Shadow is the addition of sporadic guitar elements. Now, there are not 'in your face' Ministry style guitars, but instead they are used much more infrequently and are used more to compliment the rhythm than anything else. Judging from the response of this single so far, and the overall diversity of it, I know quite a few people who are looking more forward to the next ISC than they have in the past.
