IONIC VISION - The End

Ionic Vision are possibly the only band left who create hard, strict EBM pieces driven entirely by their enraged percussion elements and shouted vocals.  What was started by Nitzer Ebb and nurtured by Armageddon Dildos, has now grown up in the form of Ionic Vision.  On The End they present 3 remixes of the title track, one mix of D/d, and a new song, Hypocrite.  Each version of The End features Deranged Psyche (Fuze Box Machine) on backing vocals and two of the mixes (Deutsche Industrie Norm (din) 2 and din 3) were reworked by Societe Anonyme.  Societe Anonyme also tears apart and reconstructs the Anonymous Mix of D/d.  Each mix stands it’s own ground.  The din 2 mix of The End contains a scratchy rhythm, shouted vocals, and strict EBM dance beats.  The din 3 mix is an instrumental and acts as an add-on to the din 2 version.  While all of these tracks are good, the best seems to be Hypoocrite.  Aggressive in nature, Hypocrite sports a insane rhythm section, reverberating vocals, and a well placed / angst ridden break.  I’m certain that Ionic Vision will eventually go the way that the other strict EBM bands have headed, as there are too many boundaries when dealing with this style of music, but I plan on enjoying their sound now, while I still can.
