Infact is
a new, rough electro act on Rudy Ratzinger’s Mental ulcer Forges (MUF) label.
Sounding much like Wumpscut, but with a more minimalistic approach,
Go Away! has a dark atmospheric feel to it. Burn Inside features
a simple, wet beat, distorted vocals, and a symphonic backdrop consisting of
string arrangements. Reality is even darker still with dirty / flattened
beats, an erratic rhythm, and nearly incomprehensible vocals. While it isn’t
exactly a danceable piece, it still has enough power within it to make for a
good, car driving tune. The highlight of the disc is You Must Die, a
slower track that has both hard and soft musical elements within it. Acute
is one of the harsher pieces on Go Away!. Patterning itself after the works
of bands such as Noisex and P•A•L, Acute also features angry
vocals and a pummeling rhythm. Overpass ventures into the more
experimental noise side of electro with crashing beats, apocalyptic sequences,
and a fluctuating rhythm. If their was one track on this disc that could be
considered dance floor friendly it would have to be Control Your Mind.
This track is driven by its steady beat, twisted vocals, and more quirky synth
patterns. During the chorus a more symphonic sequence is introduced, adding a
bit more complexity to the overall structure. Propelled by the staticy vocals,
In My Brain is a rough piece with contorted beats and squelching synth
sounds. Concrete is a short experimental noise piece with a solid beat
and noisy synths. The final track is actually Infact’s remix of Wumpscut’s
Slave To Evil. Considering that there is so much Infact styled sounds
throughout this piece it is hard to tell that is actually performed by a
different person all together. Go Away! is just another example of the style of
music that MUF is becoming known for….angry, aggressive and noisy electro with
crossover into experimental territory.
