(IN)TERNAL - Dysfunctional Subconscious
Songs: 10  Time:  45:37
(IN)ternal is a new project from Séba Dolimont, one of the main players behind AiBoFoRcEn!<-.  On Dysfunctional Subconscious Séba has help from members of Xingu Hill, as well as vocalists Cara Lithgo and Len Lemeire (Implant).  The music of (IN)ternal is a mixture of subtle beats, light sequences, and vibrating rhythms, all of which come together to create 10 atmospheric, IDM pieces.  The vocal delivery on Living in the Now reminded me of Blondie’s Rapture, in that they are delivered in a soft rap style and laid upon flat beats and crisp, melodic sequences.  Metamophosis is a slightly faster track, yet it remains airy due to its light vocals, fragile synth-lines, and muffled beats.  There’s a solid / wet beat, clear feminine delivered vocals, and watery sequences that drive Perfectionist Attitude.  Enhanced has trance-like sequences, whispered vocals, and a steady, clamorous beat.  The beats and vocals get a bit of distortion added to them on Oozing Inhibition, a harder, beat-driven piece with minimal sequences.  A Better Tomorrow has some stretched 808 styled sequences and rolling beats and it’s constantly changing as newer, sampled noises are injected into it.  Dysfunctional Subconscious is a lighter album that may very well appeal to fans of the new Haujobb material as well as trance freaks who enjoy vocals in their music.  With (IN)ternal Séba does tread on some new ground, making this project stand apart from his others.
