Hypercritep
by Global Wave System is a ½ long CDEP comprised of
electronic compositions that range from slow and dramatic (LXII) to hard
and upbeat (Fountain.) Cardboard Box starts of this CD with a
unhurried beats, dark and dense sequences, and thought provoking, semi-religious
lyrics. Crush the Viper is an even slower piece with vocals buried
beneath thick sequences, subtle electric guitar chords, and trotting beats.
Life and Works is a ominous electro track with wet sequences, slowly
delivered lyrics, and an array of samples. Its hard to pass judgement on this
release. I just get the feeling that it needs something a bit more to truly
make it good, but what that 'something'is I can not quite figure. Maybe it's
that some of the tracks need a few more breaks or changes within them to shake
things up a bit. At any rate, Hypercritep is a decent release, but nothing too
spectacular.
