FUNKER VOGT
- We Came To Kill
Songs: 12 Time: 59:56
Not only has Funker Vogt Come
to Kill, but also to blow everyone’s mind away with this most highly awaited
second full-length release. Although it was just last year that they appeared
on this musical landscape, with the high-sounding Thanks For Nothing
album and the later to follow Words of Power EP, let me start by
saying, that was just a sneak peek at what these musical masterminds are capable
of doing. They have created some of the best intelligent electronic body music
I have heard for some time. With We Came To Kill they have proven
their sound to be very unique. From beginning to end their compositions are
very powerful musically and lyrically. The song structures are very impacting,
containing addictive melodies, strong sequences, and aggressive rhythms. In my
honest opinion, all the songs are outstanding, and I do not want to credit
anyone of them any less, but there is a need to mention some of these impressive
tracks. Time Of Dreams, the opening piece starts things off pretty hard,
and gives you a warning sign to strap down and enjoy the ride. Following comes
the already smash floor hit Take Care, giving you a different version
than that of the single; they also provide a mostly piano driven version of
Take Care at the end of the disk, showing their talent to reconstruct a song.
Another conspicuous track is Stupid Incident; the bass line is just
incredible. Wartime is another track that needs to be mentioned as being
one of those songs that just gets your adrenaline going. Siegeszug is
another song that is quite enjoyable and again different from the next, an
electronic instrumental piece with a nice melody and excellent samples. Funker
Vogt are definitely making a name for themselves, making them one of the best
bands of the Zoth Ommog label. We Came To Kill is a must for any Electro-head,
and if you have not picked it up, what are you waiting for!!!
