FRACTURE
- Hell
Songs: 13 Time: 32:59
Over one year in the making, Fracture's
Hell EP was quite a disappointment. Having been looking very
forward to this release because I thought that his Killernet CD
was outstanding, Hell proved that some great things only happen once. Hell is
the soundtrack to a movie of the same name and the majority of the pieces on
this EP do reflect that soundtrack quality. The first three tracks (Hell,
On Earth, and H.O.E.) are, for all intense and purposes, a longer,
more atmospheric remix of the same track off of Killernet. Deep Within
and Killdrive (also blended together) are a pair of tracks that sample
the chorus from Hell and beef it up bit with some more electronic bleeps and
blips and a meatier beat. Death Destruct takes some of the heavier
elements of Hell and expands upon them while adding in the 'death destruct'
vocal sample. Grind Zero trots along with a repeated guitar sample and a
slight beat. Epicentre sounds as if Fracture listened to KMFDM
and attempted to remix Hell to sound as much as Sasha as he could have. The
remaining pieces are short, uninspired instrumentals that lead nowhere fast.
Hopefully this was just a phase and the next Fracture CD Al3xis can step his
music back up to the pinnacle that it once rested.
