FLOAT
- I Hate You
Songs: 4 Time: 17:28
Float is a
synth-pop band on the Eternity label, which is distributed by Dion Fortune. On
their I Hate You CD-5, Float present us with two mixes of the
title track along with two extra tracks. Both mixes I Hate You contain
catchy hooks, sublime vocals, and slight techno influenced rhythm lines. While
there are two mixes of this track, one of them is only an extended mix, so the
sound doesn’t vary greatly. On Don’t Worry, Float stick with the techno
influenced beats, but the vocals are a bit stronger and the sequencing is less
complex, relying heavily on orchestra hits sounds and light guitars. The final
track (and the strongest), [Feel It] Float mixes together some 80’s-ish
synth-pop styles with a more modern approach to programming (via a sci-fi
sounding rhythm line and near rap delivered vocals.) While I Hate You is a
decent single, I still don’t think I have a firm grasp on Float’s sound.
Hopefully their full length will point me in the right direction.
