FAITH ASSEMBLY - My Mortal Beloved
Songs: 10  Time: 44:02
A combination of soothing melodies, relaxing rhythms, and peaceful vocals is what comprises the majority of Faith Assembly’s My Mortal Beloved.  On this, their second full length, Faith Assembly sound as mature as ever.  Persuasion starts off this album with a light throbbing rhythm line, sweeping sequences, and airy male vocals with even lighter backing female vocals.  Unraveled begins with unhurried, basic percussion movements before the ethereal guitar chords and fragile vocals begin.  This is one of the catchiest synth-pop tunes I’ve heard this year.  Evil Twin Sister remains rather mellow and soft throughout, with the returning female cooing in the background and wispy male vocals up front.  Aiming to be their next single and hoping to garner some air play, Red Ambition has all the fixings for a radio friendly electro-pop track.  Extremely rhythmic music and catchy vocals collide in this danceable piece.  Her Deepest Sleep (which was also the first single from this album) is a wonderful track complete with acoustic guitar chords, female backing vocals, and easily learnt, highly addictive male vocals.  This is one of those tracks that you could listen to over and over again and never tire of it.  Of the remaining tracks, Submission stands out with its pulsating rhythm line, quirky sequences, and alt-rock guitar sound.  My Mortal Beloved stands against some of the other synth-pop releases this year and holds its ground.
