Distribution and of Elegant Machinery material in the US recently began through A Different Drum.  Fading Away is the first single off of their recent album, Yesterday Man.  This single contains 4 mixes of the title track plus two other tracks (Yesterday Man and Portrait Without Life.  Fading Away is a upbeat and whimsical song with catchy sequences aligned with melodic vocals.  The Radio Edit of Fading Away is simply a shorter version of this quirky and highly addictive synth-pop piece.  On the Atomix Sound remix we find some more aggressive synth sounds and a more distinguished beat.  Elegant Machinery turn off nearly all of their electronic equipment on the Piano Ballad mix.  Aside from the light, sweeping piano sounds there are some distant, symphonic sounds and raw vocals.  Portrait Without Life is a jumpy synth-pop track with flat beats and bouncy sequences.  The remaining piece, Yesterday Man, is a shorter piece with cascading sequences and a deep rhythm.  After only listening to this single it easy to see how Elegant Machinery have risen to the top of their genre in Europe and it only makes me wonder why it took this long for their material to get released stateside.
