DECODED FEEDBACK - Bio-Vital

Songs: 11  Time:  54:38

Yone and Marco returned in late 1997 with their third official full length CD, Bio-Vital.  Taking what they accomplished on Technophoby and polishing their sound even further, Decoded Feedback deliver an exceptionally strong album that contains well constructed dance tracks as well as a over of Frozen Autumn's Again and a Lights of Euphoria remix of Corrosion.  While Breathe received most of the hype prior to the release, I found that Bodycell was the strongest and most prestigious piece on the CD.  A strict, pounding beat is complimented with Marco's agitated vocals, stringent rhythm elements, and high-pitched sequences.  Bodycell has several breaks within it that shift the music into another realm, one nearing breakbeat techno.  Breathe serves well as the album opener, as it introduces the sound of Decoded Feedback and gives the listener some insight as to what the overall album sounds like.  Staticy rhythms, gruff vocals, stabbing sequences, and a rolling beat are the more powerful aspects of this track.  A trotting beat and bizarre samples kick off Relic, a respectable dance track tat sports a dense rhythm section, fluctuating sequences, and angry vocals.  Ragescape is an exciting instrumental that keeps the listener interested by changing things up and adding new sounds as the track continues.  Unlike a lot of instrumentals, Ragescape is as dance floor capable as the rest of the CD.  Lastly, the Lights of Euphoria mix of Corrosion takes the original, breaks it apart the layers and reconstructs it around a harder beat.  Although some of the original sounds are retained, there are also some darker ones added, reinventing this piece as only Torben can.  Bio-Vital has gotten some well-deserved recognition and with the few live shows that Decoded Feedback had performed last year, so has the band.  Already preparing for a new release, I can only imagine Decoded Feedback going on to bigger and better things in the future.
