After a 5 year hiatus, Cyborg Attack are back with their second assault, Stoerfucktor.  This was my introduction to the band and I have to say, I am impressed.  Their approach to programming and their usage of certain sounds is parallel to that of the early Cat Rapes Dog days.  While the music is completely electronic, there is this strange, yet welcomed, raw sound to most of the tracks.  Clamorous beats, growling vocals, retro synth sounds, and a choir-like backing synth drive the title track.  Within Psycho-X you’ll find those same old school synth sounds and patterns, coupled with a punkish beat and a chugging rhythm.  What initially starts off as a slower piece, Hammer Smashed Face soon catapults the listener into an abyss of chaotic beats and rapid fire synths.  Born Dead has more of an EBM feel to it than any of the other tracks.  On this piece the steady beat, staticy rhythm, and growling vocals are the center point.  Verlierer is my favorite piece.  The multidimensional vocals, clanging synths, and pounding beat work so very well together.  Carrying on the sound that I thought had died with the demise of CRD, Cyborg Attack’s sophomore release is an outstanding album.
