After releasing In Perspective,
Cosmicity decided to take a well-deserved break, but at the same time he
wanted to keep his fans happy. Forgive Me My Syns is a 10 track
MCD that features 4 new tracks (Make No Mistake, Apple, As Long
As it Takes, & Seriously), and 6 remixes. Also included on this
limited edition CD is a ton of multimedia files geared towards the novice and
the die-hard Cosmicity fan. Being that I fall somewhere in between these two, I
found that quite a lot of the material was interesting, especially the "Nearly
Useless Information for the Extreme Cosmicity Fan" page. Also included in the
multimedia files are the lyrics for every Cosmicity song (even ones never
released or yet to be released), 7 video clips, a complete discography, midi
files, photos, and Cosmicity trivia questions. As far as the music goes, it's
carefree synth-pop with smooth vocals, light keys, danceable beats, and mellow
rhythms. Mark has amazing control over his vocals, which drift in-between the
docile electronic music that he creates. For a one-man project Cosmicity seems
to have equal the talent (if not more in some cases) than most synth-pop bands
with 3 or more members. It's easy to tell (or hear) that Mark puts a lot of his
heart and soul into his music, as well as confidence and dedication in the
scene. Forgive Me My Syns should serve its purpose well, which is too keep the
fans satisfied while Mark takes a well deserved break.
