are back with their third full length and on their third record label. From
Machinery to Zoth Ommog and now on Eraser / Nova Tekk, Collapsed System deliver
many extremely strong pieces on Kompressor. You’re in My Head,
the opening track, features complex synth lines, rapid-fire rhythms, and the
guest vocal talents of Stefan Netschio from Beborn Beton. And One’s
Steven Naghavi lends his vocal talents to the powerful track Blute Jetzt.
With its potent synth patterns and irresistible rhythm, Blute Jetzt is destined
to be one of the most played club tracks in 1999. Meaning is yet another
brilliant piece in which Collapsed System combine light synth-pop styled sounds
along with harsh, abrasive beats and a mind-numbing rhythm. The whimsical
vocals of “Senorita” Antje Bontempo are complimented by the rougher, yet not
overbearing male vocals on Will You Ever Be Mine, a more synth-pop
orientated piece. Garagennachbar is a very And One sounding track,
complete with the squeaky synth patterns, and bubbly rhythm sounds. The
unmistakable voice of Sascha Hurz (of Zero Defects) can be found on
Escape, a slower dance piece with rolling beats and atmospheric synth
sounds. Wash it Away is an uptempo piece with vocals that waver between
synth-pop and electro. The music on this track is an intricate combination of
standard EBM mixed together with catchy electro-pop. Kompressor is a truly
amazing CD that never nails itself down to one particular sound or style. This
album should definitely please fans of both light and hard electronic music.
