Cleen return in 2000 with a new single, The Voice, featuring a multitude of remixes from the likes of And One, Beborn Beton, Wumpscut, Steril, and cut.rate.box.  Aside from these 5 remixes, we also will find 2 alternate versions (radio and extended) of The Voice, and remixes of both Sunburst and 0361.  Total that up and you get an extensive amount of music for one single.  I'll begin with what I believe to be the most original and best remix of The Voice, the And One Re-Interpretation.  Now, I guess you couldn't really call this a true remix because it's actually a cover of the original complete with those quirky And One keys and Steve Naghavi on vocals.  Next up is Beborn Beton's translation.  On their mix Stefan supplies some backing vocals to the track, which has been toned down drastically and transformed into a light tune with a subtle piano, tribal styled beats, and computer enhanced vocals.  The Cycletribe rmx, re-constructed by Steril, implements a mild hip-hop beat and technofied sequences, which ultimately turns this track into a beat heavy, fast-paced dance tune.  The instrumental Wumpscut rmx relies on rolling beats, samples and cascading sequences.  I would have enjoyed this one a bit better had Rudy added back in at least some of the vocals.  New Orleans electro outfit cut.rate.box ever-so-slightly reinvent The Voice by extending the track and focusing more on certain sequences.  This mix isn't quite a diverse as some of the others.  It feels more like an extended mix than anything else.  The original version is an IDM meets synth-pop tune with whispered vocals, a pulsing rhythm, and both atmospheric and jumpy sequences.  The Stomp mix of Sunburst doesn't stray too far away from the original and comes off more like a dance remix than anything.  For those of you who bought the US version of The Voice, fret not.  Those extra tracks that are on this, European version, are rumored to be added to the Cleaner full length when it is released in the states.  Believe me, it is these extra mixes that really make this CD single stand out.
