If this little 3 track single is any indication of what we can expect from Clan of Xymox’s forthcoming full length, we are in for quite a treat.  Every track on Out of the Rain is diverse in style and sound.  Out of the Rain is a dancey gothic track with both the music and vocals being highly accessible.  This track could very well be Xymox’s comeback on dance floors across the world.  With Going Forward 97’ Xymox switch gears into a more electrified, EBM sound.  With the reverberating vocals being pushed into the background and the music taking on a more beat orientated structure, Going Round 97’ should appeal to all the electro-heads out there.  Lastly, Flatlands is a smooth instrumental piece that invokes a dreamlike state when listened to in a dark room.  Middle eastern influences mixed with an ambient atmosphere is what this track is built upon.  With three entirely different styles, Out Of the Rain has major crossover appeal and could very well be their best, most intriguing release to date.
