What can really be said about Cat
Rapes Dog that hasn't already? Well, they're back with a new lead singer
(who sounds very much like the old one), a new album, and a new single…..Motorman.
Motorman contains three versions of the title track as well as another new
track entitled Glory. Motorman has your typical CRD
tongue-in-cheek lyrics (cars and sex) packed full of the perversity you've come
to know and love. S.P.O.C.K. remixes Motorman and transforms it into a
slower, spaced-out sounding track with robotic effects on the vocals and
S.P.O.C.K.'s trademark quirky synth work. The Chainsaw Remix by Roc
Robbie (LCD) technofies the track and utilizes vocal loops, a solid dance
beat, and a pulsating rhythm. Glory is a happier sounding piece with shared
male / female vocals, a distant / rolling beat, and sound samples from The
Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. Even though it has been awhile since we
last heard from CRD, time has not changed them much. Expect much of the same
old CRD if you choose to pick this single up.
