BIRMINGHAM 6 - You Cannot Walk Here

BIRMINGHAM 6 return with a new MCD featuring remixed versions of tracks off of their last album.  You Cannot Walk Here consists of four mixes of the title track, 2 mixes of One of These Days and one mix of Food For Thoughts.  While the future of Birmingham 6 is unknown, this MCD provides us fans with something else to soak in while we wait.  The United version of Food For Thoughts assaults us with chunky guitar riffs, swift beats, and squelchy electronics.  You Cannot Walk Here (Victimized) contains the same rapid guitar riffs, gruff (yet undistorted) vocals, and a beat built for stomping.  Carbon 12 do a number on their reworking of this same track.  Beginning with a slow, grinding sequence and static sounding beats, this track kicks into high gear with muffled guitar work and an array of experimental sounding sequences.  STR (ex-Swamp Terrorist, currently of Hellsau) implements his ‘not so standard’ beat programming on the Imposed version.  Starting off with a climatic build-up, STR gradually builds this track up by introducing new elements / sounds in a progressive manner.  At its high point, this version revolves around the beat and vocals, while minimal electronics play a minor role in the background.  One of These Days (Unashamed) has a great distorted guitar sound in the background, while the vocals play the most prominent role.  As you can see by the artwork, this release is considered to be rather controversial.  Cleopatra has plans to release this MCD domestically, but with different artwork and a slight variation of tracks.  Next up for B-6 is another MCD entitled The Kill as well as a full albums worth of remixes of tunes off of Error of Judgment (tenatively entitled Decay.)  There is also a possibility of another CD, containing exclusive / unreleased tracks, being released at an unknown time.  So even though B-6 may never be the same, we still do have a few more things to look forward to, and one more thing to presently enjoy….You Cannot Walk Here.
