And One’s latest release(s) is a trio of MCDs entitled So Klingt Liebe and subtitled (S), (E), & (X).  Each of the three releases contains both the club and radio versions of the title track.  The club mix is a jumpy electro / synth-pop track with sweeping vocals, quirky synths, and a pounding, dance beat.  Aside from being shorter in length, the radio version really doesn’t sound all too different from the club version.  The versions that are exclusive to each release, S-mix, E-mix, and X-mix, are all radically different from one another as well as being diverse takes on the club and radio mix.  The S-mix is a darker, more atmospheric version with a lot less emphasis on the rhythm and vocals and almost all of the focus on the more experimental synth sounds.  The E-mix introduces a female vocalist along side of Steve Naghavi’s unique vocal styling.  The X-mix is nearly a combination of the S and E mixes in that it melds together the upbeat elements of the E-mix while still implementing many of the more experimental sounds of the S-mix.  Of the three non-album tracks found scattered between these MCDs, Tell Me Lies (off of the (E) CD) is the most aggressive and club friendly.  The quirky, retro sound of Hardware Conflict (off of the (S) CD) makes it sound like an older And One track.  Your best bet for the lives pieces is on the X CD.  Get You Closer and Deutschemaschine are And One classics that are refreshed and updated in these live versions.  The standout live track on the S CD is Metalhammer and Sometimes on the E CD.  Is it worth it to pick up all three of these MCDs?  For the more avid fans it definitely is worth it.  Even with two of the tracks being present on all three discs, the variety of the rest of the tracks makes them all worthwhile.
