AMBUSH -
Rumors
Songs: 7 Time: 46:10
Licensed from Possible Records, Ambush's
Rumors is a dub-infected, beat-driven CD that has its moments, but
overall is rather repetitive. Arunner is a 7-minute plus piece that
sports one such monotonous beat, quivering sequences and a dirty sounding
rhythm. After about 3 minutes go ahead and hit the forward button on the CD
player. You're not going to miss anything. Sneak does have a nice
little, hollow analogue sound that, at first is kind of interesting, but after
overusing it becomes rather annoying. Next. Cornered, again, contains a
repetitive beat, droning backing sounds, and minimal diversity. After about 4
or 5 tracks, I begin to see a pattern here. All of these tracks have the exact
same programming elements to them. Looped, trippy beats, a rumbling, backing
sequences, and the occasional break can be found on each and every track.
Boring. Bland. Forgettable.
