The much anticipated new release from Absent Minded is now available.  Killer is a 5 track, limited edition MCD that feature 3 mixes of the title track and two live pieces (Break Out and Aimless Hopeless.)  Killer and it’s remixes are much stronger pieces that I imagined that they would be.  The FX Edit is the standout mix and features pounding, dancefloor beats, crisp / flowing electronics, and gruff vocals.  Off Beat’s Thorsten Stroht makes a guest appearance on vocals in the Agoraphobia Mix.  This mix is more reliant on the electronics than the others, but the beat is still the most prominent feature.  The vocals on this one are (obviously) different and it seems that they are shared between Thorsten and Jörg.  The live pieces are recorded with zero audience sound so the only thing that makes them sound live is the vocal delivery and minimalistic electronics.  I don’t think that they’re bad, but they’re nothing notable either.  Hopefully the world will soon see a new full length from these guys, as we’ve already waited over 3 years for this single.
